Tax Deferrals

Property owners may file a summer tax deferment application with the Hudsonville Treasurer before September 15th if they own and occupy their property as a principal residence.  If approved, this allows the taxpayer until close of business on February 14 to pay their summer tax bill without interest or penalty. In addition, the following requirement must be met. The taxpayer must have a total gross household income of $40,000 or less for the preceding tax year, and

  • Is totally and permanently disabled, blind, paraplegic, hemiplegic, quadriplegic, or
  • Is an eligible serviceperson, eligible veteran, or eligible widow or widower, or
  • Is 62 years of age or older, including the unmarried surviving spouse of a person who was 62 years of age or older at the time of death.
