The City of Hudsonville’s Fire Department and the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department will be hosting a free hot dog cookout complete with ice cream and cotton candy at their Public Safety Open House on August 26 from 4-7pm.
The goal of the event is to bring the residents of the community out to see the emergency services that are available in the county, and to make sure that they have the most up to date safety information.

In addition, there will be demonstrations of Jaws of Life, K-9 Dogs, Fire Extinguishers, and CPR.
Kids will also have the chance to spray the fire hose, get their photo taken in sheriff or fire gear, ride a sheriff’s horse, and fill out a fingerprint card.
The event is sponsored by Vredevoogd-Brummel Insurance, Rainbow International Restoration and Cleaning of Holland, and Sound Off Signal.
In the case of rain, the event will be postponed to August 27.
