A special evening nature hike at the Hudsonville Nature Center will provide residents and visitors the opportunity to experience the woods at night under a full moon. The free hike is led by the City’s Master Naturalist, Craig Elston and is about an hour in length.
“Owls are beginning to nest this time of year and may possibly be seen or heard on this casual hike through the woods in the dark.” noted Elston.
The nature hike starts from the parking area at the end of New Holland Ave, East of 32nd Ave and treks through portions of the 74 acre Nature Center. The Nature Center features a variety of mature forest types, a recreated Michigan Tall-grass Prairie, and a wetland area with flowing streams.
The walk is a great time for people who have snowshoes to use them, though snowshoes are not required for the hike.
