The Serious Readers’ Book Club

Come join us for the inaugural meeting of our new bi-monthly book club for “serious readers.”  We will be discussing primarily non-fiction works in the areas of Religion, History, Science, etc.  Each discussion will be co-led by an “expert” in the field.  Call the library to request one of the titles at 669-1255.

Sept 24:  The Rise and Fall of the Bible by Timothy Beal.  Led by Dr. Don Williams, Professor of Sociology, GVSU, Retired.

Nov 19:  Dead Wake:  The Last Crossing of the Lusitania by Eric Larson.  Led by Daniel Huisman, History Instructor, GRCC.

January 28:  Guns, Germs, and Steel:  The Fates of Human Societies by Jared M. Diamond.  Led by Dr. Marshall Elzinga, Professor of Bio-Chemistry, Retired.

March 24:  Founding Gardeners:  the Revolutionary Generation, Nature, and the Shaping of the American Nation by Andrea Wulf.  Led by Craig Elston, City Naturalist and Marybeth Westhouse, Master Gardener.
