“Prairies” is a comprehensive overview of prairie environments that was developed for and has been presented for several years for Kent County Extensions’ Master Naturalist Program. Historical prairie ranges, types of prairies, information on restoration and planting prairies as well as some interesting trivial tidbits are all covered.
Naturalist Craig Elston will lead all walks, sharing information about the natural features and helping you to learn to identify many species. All walks will begin from the parking area at the end of New Holland Ave., east of 32nd Ave. Participants should come prepared for the weather, as the walk will be held except in the event of threatening or severe weather. Long pants and shoes or hiking boots are recommended for all walks.
