Stop by the library on July 22 to have your child's vision checked for free by Project KidSight. Project KidSight is a vision screening program to detect potential vision disorders in children that can cause permanent vision loss when treatment is delayed.
WHO: Children 1 - 6 Years Old (Older Children Welcome)
WHAT: Through Project KidSight, your child's vision will be tested with a high tech camera that will quickly (1 second) and accurately determine whether your child's vision is a Pass or a Refer. When the result of the vision screening is a Refer, the child should be examined by an ophthalmologist or optometrist as soon as possible. WHY: 5% of all preschool age children experience vision loss from an undetected vision disorder, and treatment options increase when vision problems are detected early in a child's life. Normal vision can usually be restored with eye glasses, contact lenses and sometimes patching.
