Notice of Upcoming City Road Maintenance Work
|Date:||September 8, 2017|
Please be aware that the city will soon be having sections of three city streets seal coated. Seal coating is a preventative maintenance method that extends the life of an asphalt street at a relatively low cost. The downside of seal coating is that it requires a longer dry time before it can be driven on. As such, the contractor will be applying the seal coating on the residential streets in 3 individual passes in order to keep them open to local traffic. However there is a chance that sealcoat overspray can occur on vehicles (which is very difficult to remove) as they pass by, so please avoid these streets altogether, or drive with caution. Thank you for your patience.
Here are the roads that are scheduled for seal coating:
- September 10 (entire day) - Central Blvd. will be closed to ALL traffic (the entire road will be closed due to the fact that only businesses are affected)
- September 15, 16 and 17 – 1/3 (per day) of Oak Street between 32nd Ave. and 36th Ave. will be closed
- September 15, 16 and 17 – 1/3 (per day) of 36th Ave. north of Hillcrest Rd. will be closed
