    When surveyed for the Imagine Hudsonville 2030 master plan, we heard loud and clear from our residents that there was a strong desire to see an enhanced farmers market in our community (91.7 percent of respondees ranked this somewhat to very important.) We are the Salad Bowl City after all. We are excited to announce that in June of 2017, the doors will officially be opened to a new city venue that will serve as, among other things, a new permanent home for the Hudsonville Farmers Market.     Last night the City Commission unanimously approved the proposed 2016-2017 budget. Aside from normal operational and public service expenses, the new budget allocates funds for several exciting capital improvement projects in the downtown area including the new Terra Square building, the Harvey Street Woonerf conversion, and the Chicago Drive landscape enhancements.     Please note, 36th Avenue will be closed to all but local traffic starting late the week of June 7 water main and resurfacing project. This project will occur along 36th Ave. between Chicago Dr. and Oak St., and the road will be closed to all but local traffic. The staging area for the equipment and materials will most likely be the Hillcrest ball field parking lot.
